Floor Plan Mapper Release Notes – Fall 2025

This Fall has proven to be a busy season for out Floor Plan Mapper developers. Here are just a few of the new features released this Fall:

1. Self Booking Option

In previous versions of Floor Plan Mapper, when booking a desk, a user could book a desk on someones behalf by default. While many Floor Plan Mapper clients support the workflow where an employee could book a desk for someone else, some clients prefer the ability to restrict the ability to book a desk to the user currently logged into Floor Plan Mapper.

Floor Plan Mapper now has an optional setting which when set will restrict Floor Plan Mapper users to only have the ability to book a desk for themselves.

2. Auto Assign Seating Location via SCIM

The Floor Plan Mapper API currently supports the ability to auto assign employee seating locations based on an desk number attribute. Now, the SCIM Integration Module also supports auto seat assignments.

The typical workflow is as follows.

  1. Create a desk numbering scheme for the office floor plan.
  2. Create empty desks and assign a desk number as per the desk numbering scheme.
  3. Pick an attribute in Microsoft Entra ID to store an employees seat/desk number:
  4. Enable the SCIM Integration Module in Floor Plan Mapper
  5. Once SCIM initiates a Microsoft Entra ID sync, employees with corresponding desk numbers are automatically seated. In the event someone leaves the company, their seat automaticallty becomes vacant. In the even someone is going to be seated or moved to a new spot, simply update the desk number attribute if Office 365 (Entra ID) and Floor Plan Mapper will automatically assign the employee to the new location.

3. Toggle Labels
